Restoring Saturday! 🎹🔧 Found this 90’s beauty Alesis QS7 in a thrift shop and had to take it home. Today I found the time to restore the synth. Took it apart, soldered in a fresh backup battery, replaced the old, pale display with a modern one, freshly lubed all the keys, detailed all plastic parts and the wheels and cleaned the entire device from the ground up. What can I say, the machine looks like new and works perfectly. ✨✨✨

The QS synthesizers were introduced in 1996 as a direct successor to the Quadrasynths and deliver tons of lush 90s sounds, 64 polyphonic voices, ADAT connection (!!!) and can be expanded with Alesis QCards (need to go on the hunt now). Besides that, you can kick any midi controller into the trash after playing this heavenly Fatar TP9S keybed (76 keys) with aftertouch.
